The Time I Finished My Chores Before Everyone

Today I got ready for school then went there. I got there in line a couple of minutes. Ayleen bumped into me and I fell in a puddle. I had a two page test. Me and Noah built a Empire State Building out of blocks. When I got home I was the first one done with my homework and my chores and I am only 7.

Lies

One reason not to lie is because you will get grounded and people might hate you. You won't get good treats or get to play outside. Plus I will get more chores around the house. In addition, to not getting stuff, people won't trust you. It's good for people to believe me because if it's true then they won't believe me. If people hate me it will make me sad. I won't get to use the computer or go to friends houses. All that I will have to do is read and not play in my room. Mom won't let me go on field trips. I will not lie anymore. Thank you.

Ummm... What Happened To February?

So, 28 days are gone and March is about to start. Where did the time go? There isn't much to tell today. So here are a few little tidbits of information.

First, check out this video my friend Cari sent me.

Next, here is an interesting article about how February got so short.

The Countdown Begins....

Yesterday, my kids spent all day fighting. So I made them write nice things about each other. They thought I was crazy. Carolynn is counting down the days until she leaves for camp. I finally got that all paid up. Let me tell you, one week of camp is not cheap. And that doesn't include all the supplies she needs. She is down to 21 days until departure.

Another thing on the countdown, our vacation. We are leaving for a fabulous vacation on March 11. We will be gone for two glorious days. It's a secret. But it's going to be super great. Only 13 days until we depart.

Nothing else happening around here. This weekend we just hung around the house. Carolynn, Catherine and I worked on some scrapbooks. I used to make scrapbooks all the time when I was little. Unfortunatly, those all met an unfortunate end. So the girls and I are starting new ones.

Next weekend we are going to the Wild Animal Park. We are going to attempt to hike all the way around it. That should be an adventure.

Carolynn is already planning her birthday. It's still nearly two months away, but she is planning it anyway. I'll let you know what she ends up planning. She wants to do everything. If she had it her way, she'd be celebrating the weekend before, the weekend of, and the weekend after.

That's it. Until next time...

Today is a special day

First we did are chores. We made up this chore list on a white board and we get points for what ever job we do and if you raise enough points you get a toy or something. David was still at work until 2:00 pm but I think when he gets home the ‘surprise’ will start.

News That's Fit To Print

I do not know about you but I am sick of hearing about Anna Nicole Smith and Britney Spears this week. Anna Nicole Smith has been dead for over a week. Nevertheless, the news is still all over it. How did she die? Was she murdered? Where will she be buried? Who fathered her child? WHO CARES!!! Then there is Britney Spears… Britney is in rehab. Britney left rehab. Britney drank Red Bull, shaved her head, got a tattoo and had a few too many. Britney is in rehab again. I do not even care.

Here are three news stories I found that should have gotten more coverage.

Military Families Warned of Bogus Bank E-Mail

This seems like the kind of thing that should be heavily broadcast, especially here and in other heavy military communities. Military families have enough to deal with without having to deal with this too.

Oscar Mayer Ready-To-Eat Chicken Recalled

Anything involving food (or anything else) being recalled for safety, should be publicized more so that consumers can take steps needed to ensure that they do not come to harm. We had peanut butter last week that had been recalled and the only way I noticed was a small sign in the Albertsons near the peanut butter. And the recall had been ongoing for 3 days before I found out.

Prince Harry To Be Deployed To Iraq

Okay, so I am not a big fan of celebrity news, but this guy is a prince of England; a long standing line of rulers and people who shaped not only Great Britain, but the majority of the people who went on to form this country. Let us not forget, these United States were started by British colonies. Now, here, this young man from such a rich tradition is willing to sacrifice himself for his country. He and all other military members should be considered heroes for this act. (However, I would like to mention that not all military members act like heroes…)

Basketball

This weekend I went to a basketball game but it wasn’t any game. It was the excellent globetrotters. They don’t play much basketball they mostly talk and say jokes.

Basketball

On Friday night, we went to see the Harlem Globetrotters. It was fun. The show was cool. Here are a few pictures.

Happy Valentine’s Day

For some, today is a day for flowers and candy; a day for romantic dinners and hot dates. And for some, today is a good day to take the cat to the vet and order pizza for dinner.

Promises...

I know if have been promising to write something for a while and I have not been delivering. I just have not had time. That and I have had very little to say. If anyone should have something to say it would be Carolynn, who also does not write anything on her page either. I will force her into it later. She has been going to friend’s houses, getting ready for camp, and going to middle school orientation. We will see what I can get her to write about….

So, about all the stuff I was going to write…

Aqua Teen Hunger Force

It is a stupid show. It is not funny. Moreover, they felt the need to hold up the city of Boston for a promotional event. What is so funny about a square guy giving the finger? NOTHING! I hope the idiots who thought up that promotional tool were taken out and shot. I mean even my cat would have known better.

Vacation

We have not made any major plans on this. I wanted to go see the other side of the country, but my budget says otherwise. So, new plan. Maybe we are going to give camping a try. Camping gear will not been too expensive a little at a time. Then for a small amount of money, we can take many weekend vacations. We can get the exercise we need. In addition, we can see many different things. We are going to try somewhere close first, to see how it goes and go from there.

In addition, since we already have annual passes for Disneyland, we were thinking it might be fun to go there for a few days and stay at one of the hotels there. We go frequently for a day, do a few things, and come home. However, it will be nice to stay and relax a few days.

Work

It is work. What can I say? I work there. I even worked a couple of Saturdays. However, since I like my job, it is okay.

American Idol

What is with all the terrible people they let through to the judges? Some of those people were just so strange. How about that girl who expected them to teach her to sing? Or that girl who gave an “I have a dream” speech. People will do anything to get on TV. This week is Hollywood week and soon the vote will be in our hands.

That should catch us up.

Yesterday we went to Disneyland. We rode a few rides, did a little shopping, and had some dinner. We have been keeping to a great budget and I am so proud. There is money in savings. Bills are paid. I even have plans to buy a CD and not the music kind. I am so good.

Well, that is it. I saw something on my friend Trisha’s blog that I need to investigate and/or steal.

Finally…

Last night the car dealership finally picked me up at 5:30. They were only an hour late. Since they were an hour late to get me to work too, that makes 2 hours I wasted yesterday. My car is running great. They changed the oil, changed the filters, and changed the spark plugs and a bunch of other stuff. After I finally got my car back, I had an appointment at the local community college. I have been trying to take classes there since we moved here but things keep coming up and I kept putting it off. Therefore, I went last night and I got a list of classes I need to finish up. I enrolled in a late start class that starts in March. Then I will really get started in the summer. I would have taken more late start classes, but they were all full. I will register for summer classes early.

I would like to amend that last statement. Last night when I found out that all the late start classes I needed were full, I emailed the teachers to see if there was any way I could get in. I just got an e-mail back from one and I got in to a Multi-Cultural Studies class that I needed. It is an online class so I only have to attend the one. The other one is a math class. I am so happy.

Well, now that I am all enrolled, I cannot wait to start again. I am such a nerd. Nothing else is going on around here. We might go see the Harlem Globetrotters in two weeks. We are looking into doing some camping. That’s it.

Just Waiting…

Today I have time to write because I am stuck at work waiting for the people from the car dealership to pick me up. My car is in for its 30,000-mile service. I usually get a Saturday appointment, but those are so hard to come by. Everyone wants them and they are only open until 2:00 on Saturday. The man there said if I bring my car in by 7:15 am, someone would take me to work and then pick me up again after work to get my car. What an easy time saver that could be! Therefore, I made the appointment for today. I got up early and arrived by 7:15. They only have six available passes for the 7:30 shuttle (aka mini van). I got the last one. WOO! They called number 1, then 2, then three, and then four, and then…. Oh yes, number four had her children with her and numbers 5 and 6 were left behind and had to wait for the 8:30 shuttle. Lady number five was irate, started swearing up a storm, and called someone from her work to come and get her. I was forced to wait until the 8:30 shuttle. Whom was I going to call? I do not know anyone, except my boss, and one of us has to be here.

Now, it is 5:00 and here I am still waiting. They called at 11:00 to say my car was ready. I told him I would need to be picked up at 4:30. He said someone would be here. I called again at 1:00 to make sure they had the correct address for my work, since no one had asked me for it. They said the driver would call me for it later. I called again at 4:00 since no one had called me for it. They assured me a driver was out and would call any minute for directions. They called me at 4:45 to let me know the driver was running late and should call for directions by 5:00. We will see….
