Stuff

Last weekend I visited Nana, Chris, Sherri, Sarah and my dog. I was mostly at Chris and Sherri's house. We have watched The Simpson's Movie two times. The second time was with Sarah. We went swimming three times.

Today I saw three tomaters on my plant.

I got a pancake pan and an apron. It has a monkey on it. My pan has animals on it.

My weekend and today was great.

New

I forgot to mention that I got a new cat. Now we have three and that is my limit. The new cat is named Cleo. I got her on Saturday morning.

If you will recall, I wrote some time ago that my camera broke and I was using a cheap one. This one below. it makes okay video clips, but it takes terrible pictures.

Anyways, I got a new one today that is very cool. This one below. It's pink.

Catherine got some new stuff today too. My mom got her an apron with a monkey and a pan that makes silver dollar pancakes with animals on them. She can't wait for tomorrow when we will be making pancakes for dinner.

Go Glamazons!

Sandwiches

That is what I am eating right now. I got it at Subway. It is good. I have very little to do. It is the last day of the month. Work is slow. Therefore, I am eating a sandwich.

So here’s what happened….

Saturday, I ran errands all day. I picked up some stain for work. I got groceries. I went a few other places. Then I got some dinner at the Pick Up Stix. It was good. David does not eat Asian food, so sucks to be him. We watched Wedding Crashers. It was pretty funny. The girls left Saturday morning on a trip to the High Desert to visit relatives. They might write about it later.

Sunday, I drove up early to go pick up the girls. I figured if I went early, it would not be as hot and the air conditioner in my car quit working recently. It is not a huge problem here, but there…

I went to my mom’s house. I got to see my dog. I brought him low fat dog food. He is looking a bit porky. He is still the same old dumb dog though. Anyway, my mom and dad were taking my grandpa to see a ball game so I spent the day with my sister. That must have been a record setter. I made it all day and I did not even kill her. We were going to go get our toes done, but every nail place in Apple Valley was closed so we ate at Applebee’s instead. Then the girls came and played with the dogs for a few. Then we all went to a movie. We saw The Simpson’s Movie. Yes, again. It was still awesome. After the movie, the girls and I drove home. It was cool by then because it was almost night.

That is about it. Oh, Burger King has Simpson’s toys in their kid’s meal. Feel free to eat a lot of kid’s meals and send me the toys.

Hound Dog

Yesterday I went to Apple Valley. I will add more about that tomorrow. Until then, here is a video about our dog Elvis who lives at my mom's house.

Better Late Than Never

So, I made this video on Saturday, but I wasn't home yesterday to post it. Yesterday was Heather's Birthday. I won't say how old she turned though...

Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY HEATHER!

A Simpson's Moment

I saw The Simpson’s Movie last night. You know how sometimes movies just should not be made? American Pie was good but its sequels, we could have done without. We could have done without all those terrible sequels they have recently made for old Disney classics. I was worried that this would be one of those movies. I was worried that, though I can sit through hours of The Simpson’s re-runs, stretching what was usually 22 minutes into 90 minutes was going to take something away.

I was wrong. It was awesome. It was funny. It was not too long. It had a fun plot. They just cannot do some stuff on TV. There was a tad bit more swearing, no F words, but a few God Damn’s. There was some brief nudity. (We saw Bart’s doodle.) I cannot wait to have it on DVD. Next week I am getting season 10 on DVD. So far, there have been 18 seasons of The Simpson’s and they are getting ready for the 19th. Is it just that obvious that I love The Simpson’s?

“Isn’t there anyway I can change my D.N.A, like sitting on the microwave?”- Lisa Simpson

What would it be like if everyone looked the same? This was the question asked by Carolynn yesterday. If we all looked the same, I hope we’d all look like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

*************************

Carolynn is having a tea party next weekend. It should be a very refined afternoon. I have a whole list of songs from Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, and many other classical composers. My mom is sending a fancy tea set. We are having brunch foods. I will enjoy some nice tea, probably Earl Grey. I also have a nice Irish tea that I like. Carolynn only drinks plain black tea and only iced. Oh well, she can have it that way too. We will play some cards (because on “I Love Lucy” the ladies get dressed up and have brunch and play cards. However, they usually play bridge and we will probably play Uno.)

I am a little lightheaded in my office today. We are staining some baskets in our warehouse and the fumes are making me a little dizzy. Our baskets usually come already stained, but by special request, we are staining some that do not usually come that way.

Well, The Simpson’s Movie will be soon. Then we are heading to Pat and Oscars for dinner. I will let you know how it goes.

D'Oh

Finally, today is the day. Last week, it was Harry Potter anticipation. This week, The Simpson's Movie. Tonight, 5:30 PM, all will be revealed. I can't wait.

It's Hot... Damn Hot

When ever it gets hot I think of this movie. I love the way he goes on about how hot it is. Robin Williams is so excellent. This is an excellent movie. We have it on DVD.

5. To Get Dinner
6. To Sit
7. To Find The Furniture
8. For Sleepovers

Candy Fire

I had a really weird dream called CandyFire. I went to school in the forest. Animals came. They told us the state was on fire. We ran to the lake. I was about to jump in first... I smelled a sweet smell. We went back home. There was a pool of candy. We still got to go swimming. We also skipped school.

Party Time

On August 4th I’m having a tea party. We will drink tea and if you don’t like tea you will get sparkling apple juice. We will also listen to Mozart. We will eat little egg salad sandwiches and egg and potato casserole plus muffins. We are wearing fancy clothes. We will also play cards.

Sick

So yesterday, I was bored and I put up all kinds of posts. It was nice to get lots of response. That is what makes this fun. Today, this is all you get because I am sick. I did not go to work today. That is my first sick day all year. I only used one sick day last year. I had a fever, my head was hurting, and I felt sick. It was terrible. I could not sleep. Anyway, I took some medicine and finally got some sleep. Anyway, that is all for now. Do not forget the question of the week.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- My Opinion

Okay, here is what I thought of the final instalment of the Harry Potter series. For any of you who have not read it and plan to, I beg you, stop reading now and go read. I have two reasons for this- one it's a really excellent book and you should read it and two I am about to write about the ending and I don't want to spoil it for you.

Overall, I loved it. I found it to be a tad hard to follow at times, simply because there was so much happening at once. I think she crammed a lot into that book. I also was a little sad to see that very little happened at school. I mean the whole point of there being 7 books was one for each year he attended school. He did not even attend the school in this one; he just went there in the end. I found the whole end rather religious. I mean the kid dies to save them all, but comes back. Who is this kid, Jesus? (Speaking of, there were Mormon missionaries outside the Barnes and Noble last Friday while Carolynn and I were there waiting. They were trying to hand out pamphlets, and possibly persuade people from buying the book. Maybe they were trying talk people into becoming Mormons. I doubt they had any success at either endeavor. But my opinion on that could be a whole post in itself.) I was sad when Mad-Eye was killed; however, I was even sadder that he lost poor Hedwig. I was sure that Fawkes would come to him in the end, but he never did. The worst was the end... they lost Lupin, Tonks, Fred, Snape and Colin. There was a lot of death in this one. Though I doubt anyone cared about the Death Eaters or Crabbe. They deserved to die.

I was happy to see the change of heart in Dudley and Kreacher. Too bad Aunt Petunia could not get over her jealousy of her witch sister. Sure was interesting to find out all this time Snape was doing all he could to save Harry, even, in the end, giving his life for the child of the woman he loved. What's up with the Malfoy's going off scott free? After all they did over 7 books, they deserved to die. Okay, so Mrs. Malfoy lied for him there at the end, but they still deserved to go. I thouroghly enjoyed Bellatrix being murdered.

I just knew Ron and Hermione would be a couple. Seriously, who didn’t see that coming? I am also thinking that Luna and Dean had a little thing going there at the end. The ending was good, though they lost some good men in the battle, they triumphed over evil. I love a happy ending. The little added epilogue though seemed a little tacked on. I appreciated it because it really wrapped things up, but there was so much more that could have been said there. However, I loved it. I am quite happy with it and will probably read it, and the other six, many more times in my life.

Why I Hate My Space

1. It is full of losers.
2. It is not as easy to use as Blogger.
3. It is not as customizable.
4. It is too limiting.
5. Did I mention it was full of losers?

I do not know what it is about that site that I hate. Maybe because it is not really a personal website, but more of a giant, on going instant message or chat line or something. Anyone remember way back when AOL was first out and the only real thing to do was go to those chat rooms that were always full of strange people? Oh sure, there were some normal people in there, but there always had to be some creepy people commenting or what ever. That is what My Space reminds me of, some big crazy chat room.

Why the tirade you ask? I have no reasons really. I was just bored and thinking and browsing the internet. Millions of people use My Space. I must admit, even I have a My Space. However, do not look for anything there except a note directing you here. I guess it could be useful, if you were looking for someone. However, I have enough trouble with all the people I already know, why would I want to look for anyone else?

David's Day

For those of you who were wondering what that was, well, it is like Mother’s Day or Father’s Day for people who are not mothers or fathers, but do children’s laundry, walk them home from school, help with homework, make peanut butter sandwiches and stuff like that. We chose July 23 for no real reason then last year it was a Sunday and Mother's Day and Father's Day are on Sundays. In honor of David’s Day, we ordered pizza. He and Catherine built a Lego helicopter. Carolynn picked out a Lego Batmobile for them to build. He took the girls to the pool. I baked him some blueberry muffins. It was not anything major. Now you know.

Next on the calender, The Simpson's Movie. It comes out this Friday. I will be seeing it as soon as I get off of work Friday afternoon. I can't wait. David is almost finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, so check back for my full review later today. I want to see the new Harry Potter movie too, but probably not yet. The girls might go away for the weekend. They don't know yet, so no one tell them. I don't want them to be disappointed. If they don't go though, maybe we'll go see the Harry Potter movie.

Carolynn has her 6th grade orientation on August 6. She is getting excited about about going to middle school. She spent the night at her friend Jessica's house on Saturday and took my camera, so expect a video about it on her site soon.

Not As Nuts As I Thought

Okay, so a week or two ago I posted a video similar to the one above, with the same girl group singing on America's Got Talent. I had mentioned that the red haired one looked familiar to me but I couldn't quite place her. Well, I was right. I do know her. My uncle sent me this news article about her. Her name is Sarah Orr and I went to high school with her. She was maybe one or two grades behind me, but we took the same musical theater and choir classes. I wouldn't say we were good friends or anything. I remember her being nice enough though. I haven't seen her since high school. But there you have it, I was not going crazy. Carolynn and I have been voting for them. They may not be the best, but they certainly have the most spirit. Besides, not all of us can be size 0, especially me.

Good luck to Sarah and to the other girls of The Glamazons.

We are voting for you!

Done

Yes, I finished Harry Potter yesterday. I took my time, read it, and re-read it, so I was sure I had not missed any parts. I had started from the beginning (Book 1) a couple of weeks ago so I had just finished the sixth book when I got the seventh. I really liked it. I am somewhat sad it is over, but I still liked it. I am not posting my full review until David finishes, because I do not want to spoil it for him. (It's already written and saved on here so as soon as he's done, I'll post it.) Also, if you do not want to spoil it for yourself, do not look at Trisha’s page. (That’s the link on the side marked “A Woman’s Blog Is Her Obsession”)

There are about a dozen dragonflies zooming around over the trees outside my office window. I do not think that I have ever seen that many dragonfly’s at once. Maybe because they are dragonflies, they are excited about Harry Potter too.

Totally Harry

Well, last night we went to the Barnes and Noble to wait for the new Harry Potter book. I wasn't sure I wanted to go. I didn't think hanging out at a book store would be too great. I didn't think waiting in line would be fun. But we had a great time and it was a lot of fun. We got there at 7:00. They had tons of stuff to do. We got a number for our line placement and we finally lined up around 11:30. Everyone was so excited. There were a lot of kids, a lot of teens and a lot of full grown women. There were men too, but not as many. We finally got our book and got home around 1:45 am. I made a video about it. Enjoy.

I saw that The Simpson's were up for an Emmy. As good as the nominated episode is, and as much as I love The Simpson's, I don't think it will win against the South Park episode it is against. I am not a fan of South Park, but I did see that episode and it is funny and very creative.

Tonight at midnight, Harry potter #7 comes out. I still haven't decided if I will go tonight or just wait until tomorrow. Carolynn wants to go tonight. Either way, you can guess what I will be doing all weekend.

Back To Normal

I received some backlash from yesterdays post, well the second post anyway. (Did anyone even see the first?) I have dealt with those people privately and everything is fine now. I still stand by every word I wrote. Moreover, I feel good about it too. It is not good just to hold stuff in all the time.

Today, well I am at work. July is our slowest time. We are having everyone do a full inventory here and it is hot outside in the warehouse so no one is too happy about that. We are also weighing and measuring every box so we can better understand our freight costs. Oh, yes, such fun… counting baskets and doing math. I hate math, but the math classes have helped and Excel is the best program ever made. However, my boss, who is a math whiz, and will probably find the serious amount of math fun.

I have a sinus infection. I went home early yesterday (just in time for all that stuff. WOO!) and I am feeling better today. That may have been one of the causes of my angry blogging, but what can you do? My friend Heather sent me an e-mail today about getting free stuff from Victoria’s Secret. It worked too. Heather did it, I did it, Trish did it, and I think my Aunt Christine is doing it. If I did not send that to you and you want in on the secret, send me an email. I am not posting it here.

Tonight we are making those Rachel Ray chicken tender’s I wrote about last week. Carolynn just loved them. I thought they were yummy too.

I got this email from my friend Cari today and I thought we could use a little of this considering… So here. Enjoy.

LESSONS IN LIFE

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
15. Life is too short for long pity parties. Get busy living, or get busy dying.
16. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
17. Over-prepare, then go with the flow.
18. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
19. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
20. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?"
21. Always choose life.
22. Forgive everyone everything.
23. What other people think of you is none of your business.
24. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
25. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
26. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
27. Believe in miracles.
28. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
29. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
30. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
31. Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable.
32. Read some good books. They cover every human emotion.
33. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
34. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
37. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
38. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
39. The best is yet to come.

43. Yield.
44. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Party Time

July 14 we had a 70's party. We didn't really eat the cheese fondue. We mostly ate the meat. Mom ruled at all the games. We danced to lots of songs. We loved the chocolate fondue. It was the best party ever.

Angry Blogger- My Blog, My Right To Be Angry

Earlier today, as some may have noticed, I had been so mad that I actually made this, and both the girls’ blogs, “Invitation Only” blogs, so that unless I invited you, you could not see it. I have calmed down since then and have decided to re-open it. However, I have also decided that the time to sit here and just take crap from people is OVER! Seriously, I am too tired of dealing with a bunch of bullshit. Every word I write in this post, I mean them. Freaking copy it, make many copies. Give it to your lawyers. Email it to everyone. I do not give a damn. Guess what? It is a free country. Check out Freedom of Speech.

Here is the news. My family, well most of it anyways, thinks I am some kind of weirdo, maybe that I am some kind of tramp. I do not really know. They seem think I am some kind of damn fool who does not know her ass from her elbow. However, these people, all of them, whether they chose to admit it or not, and they will not, they are dead wrong. They know nothing of my life and have no right to sit there and pass judgment on me.

I usually say sweet things. Things like;

You cannot choose your family.
You only get one family so you should all learn to get along.
Forgive and forget.
Do not let the past bring down your present and future.

Well, I have decided to take my own advice. I was wrong. You CAN choose your family. You cannot choose the people that you are blood related to. You cannot choose whom you are related to by marriage. Nevertheless, it is true; you can choose your family.

Forgive and forget is for minor things. Some things cannot be forgiven. I am sorry that is just the way it works.

From this day forward, I will not allow the actions of others mess with my life. You all can fight amongst yourselves; I do not want any part of it. I will not get in the middle of any crap. My parents will not speak to my aunt and uncles. There were apparently some heated words exchanged. I do not care what they are; I do not want to know. I have not spoken to my Uncle Dan or his children in a very long time. I know nothing about them, so do not ask me. I get the occasional e-mail from my Aunt Christine or Uncle Steve. They have not done anything to me and what they may have done to you is none of my business. They sent Catherine a nice fondue pot. Maybe they are rather odd, okay there is no maybe about it. Nevertheless, whatever, at least they e-mail once in awhile.

I have been sitting here for months now, hoping that everyone could learn to get along. My own mother has not spoken to me in more than a year. Why? Beats the crap out of me. I am pretty sure some stuff my ex-husband said had something to do with it, but why she believed him I have no idea. My supposed father, who I have always treated as a father, even though by blood he is not, is also not speaking to me. Why? Same reasons as my mother I guess. My sister, whom which I have never gotten along with, is not speaking to me, but frankly, I do not wish to speak to her for reasons I do not find appropriate for posting. My brother, who I have only spoken to recently, lied to me and I am sure believes all the lies that have been told about me. Moreover, just for the record, not one of these people actually spoke to me, e-mailed me, or in any way contacted me to confirm any of this.

I am sure they are all reading this, as I know they do, I have the proof in my site meter. They are probably all thinking things like….

“She never called us either” or "What were we supposed to think?"- Since when is it my job to chase down rumors people may have spread about me and make sure people don’t believe them? If I decided to hate you all because someone told me you were drug dealers, would you think that was dumb of me not to confirm it first?

“She didn’t visit Grandma in the hospital.”- I did not. I could not. I wanted to, but I just could not do it. I did not want to see her that way. I did call there. I did send flowers, cards, and pictures.

“She is just an attention seeking drama queen.”- Yep, that is it. You got me. I just love my own family treating my like something nasty they stepped in.

Well, as of this minute, I am done. I am done with all of you. I tried. I tried to be nice. I tried the whole forgive and forget thing. I posted for your birthdays. I sent you videos. I failed. So quit coming here. I know I cannot stop you. However, you have no right to be a part of our lives. We are not a part of yours. We are doing fine without you. Do not send any more packages. Do not send cards or letters. They will be returned. You do not know us. You obviously do not want to know us. So go on. I am done.

It’s Monday. Don’t Ask Questions.

Catherine’s party was a success. She said it was the best party ever. We had fondue. This was my first fondue and next time I think I will use a little milder cheese. I used Gruyere. That is what the recipe called for. It was good though. After we ate, we played games. Carolynn and I beat David and Catherine at Pictionary. (It was pretty one sided but we had fun.) After that, the girls and I played some more games. David took a nap because he had been up since 3 am since he worked 4 to 12 that morning. The girls did some dancing. We played more games. Then we had our chocolate fondue. It was good, but next time I think I will use a sweeter chocolate. The recipe called for dark semi-sweet chocolate, which is what I used. Overall, it was a fun day. It sure was cheap entertainment too. I just had to get some specific food. I made all the decorations myself; Construction paper chains for streamers, brown, yellow and orange paper daisies, and yellow paper smiley faces. We already had the games. And it took me only a few minutes to make a song play list on Napster. Catherine thought it was great. I made a video about it, but Catherine insisted I post it to her page.

Well, now that Catherine’s party is over, guess who wants to throw a party of her own? Carolynn. Duh. Who didn’t see that coming? She has several good ideas for parties so far. Maybe she is going to have herself a hoedown. This is supposed to include barbecued food, root beer, country music, and games such as hangman and poker. Another idea she had was for a hippie party. This one would involve peace signs, 60’s music, and vegetarian food. Her final idea is for some kind of tea party/ brunch. This involves dresses, flowers, tea, fake champagne (sparkling cider), muffins, fruit and other brunch food, as well as classical music. I think the hoedown would be fun, but I think she is leaning toward the tea party. She likes frills. She insists she will eventually put all of her ideas to use. We will see.

Sunday, we just hung around the house. I have been re-reading Harry Potter’s so I will be all ready for the new one, which comes out in mere days. I am debating whether I should go to the midnight party at the Barnes and Noble on Friday and get it then. I did not pre-order it. I did not think there would be a need. Every store will have tons of copies. I cannot wait to find out how it finally ends.

David went to see Transformers yesterday. He said it was good. On his way back, he stopped at the 7-11 and bought me and the kids some real Squishee’s from the Kwik-E-Mart in the 7-11. They came in super cool collectable Simpson’s Movie cups. I am so excited. I cannot wait to see the movie. I may have to see it more than once. In case anyone didn’t already know, I am a super huge Simpson’s fan. The Simpson’s Rule! I cannot decide if I am more excited about The Simpson’s movie or the final Happy Potter.

Catherine's Party Extravaganza

Yesterday was Catherine's party. When it started we had fondue. My favorite fondue was the oil one. The cheese fondue was my least favorite. The chocolate was my favorite. David didn't like the fondue though. We danced and played games. Pictionary was my favorite. Me and mom went all the way around the board and won. Well David and Catherine were still at start. The next game David went to take a nap. It was a nobody wins game. Then me and Catherine played in our room and stayed up late. I was TIRED.

Disco Kids

Just in case you are wondering...
Catherine was trying to draw the word "straight", David drew dice and Carolynn drew railroad tracks.

Catherine is so excited about her 70’s Party she can hardly contain herself. She has called me at least three times today to ask me various questions about it. When I get off work, we are doing the shopping for the food. She spent a good part of yesterday making up her music list. We got the top 10 songs for each year 1970 through 1979 and she picked out her favorites, plus a few extras we found in the process. Here is her music play list. (We use Napster and I love it. Longest Week In History

I do not know what it is, but this week is just dragging by. Why isn’t it Friday yet? It feels like it should have been Friday yesterday.

That is really all I have to say.

Blue Skies and Sunny Days

That is what we get around here. However, today is a bit windy.

Nothing much is going on around here. Catherine is getting excited about her fondue party. If any of you are planning to attend the party, send me an email and let me know. I will need to know for sure by tomorrow so I can buy proper amounts of food. I know most of the people who would want to come live to far away. You will be missed.

About the Question of the Week…
That is a new feature offered by Blogger and they are still testing it. Expect it to change colors or looks. Do not be too put out if it will not work for you. I have no control over it except to pick the question and answers. As soon as they get all the bugs worked out, I am sure it will be cool.

America's Got Talent

There is a girl in that group, the red-headed one, the girl that calls herself Ginger Snap. She looks so familiar to me it is driving me crazy. I could swear I knew her from somewhere. They don't give any information on the America's Got Talent Website. The group is good and I like them. But I still could swear I know that girl. They say they are from New York, and I know I have never been there. I am pretty sure she never worked at a Hickory Farms with me. Maybe she and I took the same class somewhere. I have taken classes at three different colleges. Maybe she worked at a store I shop at. Maybe she just looks really similar to someone I knew once. I don't know, but it is driving me crazy.

Just FYI.

Almost My 70's Party! Woo Hoo!

At my party we'll have games, fondue, and dancing. We'll play games like Scattergories and Pictionary. We'll have chocolate fondue and cheese fondue. We'll listen to lots of 70's songs. I'll be wearing a pretty blue dress and nice brown and white sandles. It will be so so awesome!

Cheap and Easy

We made this chicken recipe for dinner tonight. I was so yummy.

The Awsome Green World

There once was a girl named Maggie. She was 12 years old. She loved green. The only thing she colored with was green markers, green crayons, and green colored pencils. Plus, the only thing she colored were turtles and green flowers, but they were really good. Maggie lived in a really rich house. Yet Maggie lived in the attic. Plus she had a little brother named Bob. Her mom was greedy too. She had the biggest room in the house [the living room]. The only time Maggie could come in the room is if she comes to clean it. The dad worked day and night.

On a Saturday, Maggie got on her favorite plain green dress with green ruffles on the bottom. Then she made her bed and had toast. She put on her special jelly. She made it herself. It was green. After she ate her toast, she went outside. When she got outside, she saw a green dog. He was so cute! Except when he barked, it meowed, which was strange. It seemed to have something in its mouth. It looked like a green rose and a green tulip. Suddenly the dog started running. Suddenly the dog stopped in its tracks. The dog turned around and meowed again. Maggie realized the dog wanted her to follow him. Maggie followed him all the way to a really tall gate. A huge sign on it said KEEP OUT! The little dog was in front of an open gate. Maggie went over and looked. There was green everything; flowers, water, and green turtles. Maggie’s mouth dropped open. For a second she thought everything was spoiled and the trees had moss on it. She went down to the water and drank some. it was real water. Then she couldn't believe her eyes; a world of green. Then she saw something: a castle.

Maggie was so shocked. The little dog started running up to the green castle. Maggie followed too but she stopped. She heard something. It was her mom. She turned around and ran home. When she got home, she gave her more chores for running away. So she got on a green apron, green sponge, green broom and green shoes and started cleaning the house. When she went to bed, she kept thinking of the green world. The next day she ran to the open gate. When she got there, she saw the dog running to the castle. Maggie followed up to the green castle. When she went in, she saw a king and queen sad. Maggie went up and said “Why are you sad?”
“We want to have a kid.”
Then Maggie did something brave. “I’ll be your child.”
“Thank you.,” they said. “Bring your stuff tomorrow.”
Then Maggie ran home.
When she got home, her mom said to clean. Maggie said, “No, I’m moving out.”
“Fine, bye! I’ll deal without you”
She ran to the castle and lived a happy and better after.

The End

In The Good Ol' Summertime

Nothing exciting going on today. We are just enjoying the nice summer weather. Catherine and I planted a garden on the porch a week ago or so. She is growing tomatoes and I am growing herbs and a pepper plant. We have lots of little flowers. Soon we will have tomatoes and peppers. We could make salsa. Here is a picture of some summertime feet. My Aunt Christine made these flip flops for me and Catherine. She made some for Carolynn too, but Carolynn's feet were unavailable for the picture.

An Awesome Week

If I could go on any vacation I would go to Disneyland! I'll sleep in a hotel. I'll ride Space Mountain 1,000,000 times. I would bring my family. I'll also bring David. I'll bring Cow and get clothes for him. I'll get a credit card and buy a little house. I'll stay in the hotel for a week.

Happy Anniversary. You know who you are.

News?

Seriously, of all the important news there is to write about or report on in this world, why is this considered a "Top News Story"? I just don't get it.

First, Happy Birthday Morgan! Morgan is 11 years old today. I hear she is having a bit of a sleepover and a trip to the beach. Doesn’t that sound exciting? I hope she has a super great time.

*************************************

Next, Welcome Home Ken! My friend Heather’s husband returned from deployment on Tuesday. Glad he made it home safe and sound. I am sure Heather, Joey, and Kayleigh are happy too.

*************************************

Finally, it is Friday, so that is always happy. Two days of sleeping in.

Speaking of sleeping in… my kids have turned into lazy bums this summer. They aren’t rolling out of bed these days until the crack of noon.

Well that is all for now.

All That Is Missing Is An Olive Green Refrigerator

Catherine got a fondue pot today. It is very 70’s. It is orange. My Aunt Christine and Uncle Steve sent it to her. They got it as a wedding present 28 years ago. It is authentic. She is counting down the days until we have our pot of cheese. It is so exciting.

4th of July 2006

Last year I saw fireworks. It took like 10 or 12 hours. It took half and hour to come and go. I fell asleep when we went home. It was so so cold. There was a little beach below us. Mom didn't let us go on it.

America

The American flag stands for America and freedom for this country. 50 stars on the flag for the 50 states. 13 stripes on the flag for the first 13 colonies.

The laws help make this country better. If we didn't have laws a lot of people will get hurt or die. Now if you break a law you get put in jail.

The Statue of Liberty is another thing that stands for freedom and independance in America. And that makes America America.

The End

70's Party!

In ten more days I'm having a 70's Party. It's going to be so so fun. There will be fondue and boardgames. For dinner we're having meat. With it we're having cheese fondue. Yum! For dessert I want to have chocolate fondue. This will be the best party ever.

Happy Anniversary To Us!

And to you too, for that matter. One year ago today we started Tropical Fruit. It replaced all other blogs I had maintained to date and started fresh. Why might you ask? Some have asked me why I did not just keep the same blog that I had been doing for some years before and perhaps change the look, the name or even the web address. Was I trying to cut certain people out of my life? Was I trying to pretend that those times never happened? Nope. I have never cut people out of my life. Some people have chosen to cut themselves out, but that was their choice. I do not pretend they do not exist, I just do not write about them very often, as they do not come up in my current everyday life. I do not pretend times before did not happen. Some of those times were very good times. (The old blog held posts about a certain trip to Tennessee that actually had us laughing so hard we cried.) However, there is no sense in living in the past. Each day begins anew. Everyday we move forward. That is what I do now. You only get one go around in life, so you might as well make the most of it.

So on with another year of Tropical Fruit! Here are a few basic blog facts to remind us all and help any new readers keep up:

1. There are four members of Tropical Fruit: Jennifer, Carolynn, Catherine, and David. David is the only boy and does not post very often so this tends to be a very girly website. If you do not like girly, go Google something manlier, like cowboys or racecars or something.

2. Tropical Fruit is the main page. Carolynn runs a page called Ocean View and Catherine runs a page called In The Zoo. You will find links to the right.

3. Tropical Fruit is run from its home base in Vista, California. Vista is a northern suburb of San Diego, California and is situated just east of Oceanside, just north of Carlsbad and just west of San Marcos. We have some of the best Weather in the world here. We are less than 10 miles from the beach.

4.Tropical Fruit Right Side Content:
A. Days of Apples and Oranges is a calendar of events encompassing all members of Tropical Fruit. On the Ocean View, a similar calendar holds only days in which Carolynn finds importance.

B. On both Tropical Fruit and Ocean View you will find the current weather for Vista, CA.

C. On the Ocean View, you will find a birthday countdown. Help Carolynn count the days until she turns 12!

D. Tropical Fruit Trivia Challenge is a general trivia game open to anyone. We have very few players so I welcome anyone to try it.

E. Harry Potter countdown will not be there for much longer! The movie comes out on July 11 and the new book comes out July 21.

F. TV Fruit can give you insight into what we might be watching at our house. It works with our cable company and our pre-programmed favorites list to compile a list of what we might be watching at any given time. I find this to be very cool.

G. As always, feel free to e-mail us. Links to all of our e-mail addresses can be found under the heading of “Send Us Some E-Fruit” In addition, you will find links to each of the girls e-mail addresses on their own pages. Carolynn checks e-mail a lot more than Catherine.

H. The “Fruit of Others” section holds links to other web pages we enjoy. Feel free to check them out. The Ocean View has a similar list of web pages enjoyed by Carolynn.

I. Near the bottom is a fuzzy little guy called Moji who reads what I write and then is supposed to act accordingly. He tends to get a bit confused at times and I am thinking about moving him to the Ocean View. In The Zoo also has one of these.

J. On both Ocean View and In The Zoo you will find silly interactive pets (Little Dude the Turtle on Ocean View and Mr. Banana’s the Monkey on In The Zoo)

K. Finally, at the bottom of every page you will find our visitor counters. These were reset fresh today.

Those are all the features of Tropical Fruit. Each website is updated at it’s own pace. Each website is interactive with places for post comments as well as other areas of involvement. (Keep a watch for those.)

Finally, thanks for reading. It would not be nearly as much fun to write if no one read it.
