The End...

Today is the last day of NaBloPoMo. It's been a challenge. There were some days I just had so little to say. But it was fun. So will the fun continue? My friend Trisha found a new challenge called Holidailies. It's basically the same challenge for the month of December. It's hard, but I will do it if Trisha does it too. We live so far apart, it's the only thing we can do together.

I got this game from Dawn's Blog. You have to play it. It is so funny.

Look for my video later.

I Lied

So, I didn't make that video I promised yet. I was busy all day. I went to the grocery store and to the bank and then made dinner. I made my Aunt Paveena's famous egg rolls. Then Survivor came on and I will have to take a shower and watch CSI. Maybe tomorrow we will have our video.

Too Much To Do, Too Little Time

I have been working hard the last couple of weeks. Buisness is booming. Our new sales person is working out great. The girls are working hard at school. David is working hard at Wal-Mart. It's very busy there.

Today I am working on a movie about my trip to Nevada. Look for it tomorrow.

Another Day, Another Dollar

Carolynn is starting a volcano project. It sounds messy. I've been catching up on my DVR shows. That's it. Really, that's it. My life is just not that exciting. If anyone else has something exciting to share, let me know.

It's Late

I'm tired and dusty. I need to take a shower. (I don't have a kitchen/bathroom/closet combo, but it will have to do.) Tomorrow... videos.

Having Fun

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, many people shop. Some people put up Christmas decorations. Some people just chill out and eat leftovers in front of the tube. But me, I am in Pahrump, Nevada. I am hanging with the old folks. We are going to bowl and check out the area. (That should take like 10 minutes tops.) We will make crafts with Helen and see a menagerie of animals at her house. I will be making a video. Until tomorrow...

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I have the turkey in the oven. It smells so good. I baked a cherry pie this morning. The stuffing and the green bean casserole are in the fridge waiting.

I am watching the dog show. I am seeing all the commercials for the big sales tomorrow. Kohl’s will be open at 4am. Who gets up that early to save 20% on fine jewelry? Are there really people who need that much fine jewelry that it is worth getting up that early?

Later I will post a video of our Thanksgiving. I hope everyone is enjoying theirs.

Still Bouncing

This morning the banging began at 6:15 AM. He uses a basketball and just slams it into the wall. I am apparently not the only neighbor bothered by it. However, nothing seems to be done about it. The parents do nothing. The building manager does nothing. I don’t know how much more I can take. Another thing about this kid, he sits on the stairs leading to my apartment and does not move, even if you are on your way up. The stairs do not lead anywhere except my apartment. He lives under me. Tomorrow I have to be at work at 7:00 AM. If I have to deal with that kid at 4:00 AM again, he will not be eating a turkey dinner this week.

We got a new office employee at work last week. She has been a huge help. She is a salesperson, which leaves me more time to get everything else done and not have to spend all that time with customers and sales.

All the light bulbs in the house went out today. Well, almost. The light on Little Dude’s tank went out yesterday and I went over to the PetsMart to get him a new one. Today I have to get over to the Wal-Mart for some people bulbs.

Finally, last night we had dinner at El Pollo Loco. It was yummy. We never ate there before, but I pass it everyday on my way home from work.

Bouncing

At 4:30 this morning some kid was bouncing a ball on my wall. He is around 7 or so. It was 4:30 in the morning! Someone made him stop and he started yelling shortly after, but he was back at 6:30.

Like Grandma Used To Make

The fried chicken was good. We didn't do much cleaning today, but we managed to keep what was cleaned yesterday clean. Carolynn and I watched a bunch of shows on DVR. We also sent time watching the Food Netowrk. I love that channel.

A Saturday Evening Post

We did some cleaning today. It looks much better in here. We got all the camping things cleaned and put away. We got the boxes of Halloween decorations that we packed up after Halloween was over. They have been sitting on the porch waiting. We cleaned the kitchen and made our stuffed pork chops. They were okay. The veggie and rice stuffing wasn’t for me. Catherine loved it. The pork chop was a bit dry. They weren’t terrible, just not something we will try again.

Carolynn got her report card today. She got all A’s and B’s.

I have been watching cooking shows all day. I want to get one of these electronic meat probe things for my turkey. I think I am going to try it the Good Eats way. Alton Brown usually gives the easiest and best way.

Tomorrow, more of the same. More cleaning. More Laundry. Fried Chicken.

The Butcher’s Choice

I was at the Albertson’s today and the butcher had some stuffed pork chops. We got some and plan to try them out tomorrow. We got all the fixings for our Thanksgiving feast too.

We don’t have any big plans for the weekend. We are just cleaning and getting ready for the upcoming holiday. We are going to watch Ratatouille. We will let you know if it is good.

Noises of the Wild

Carolynn has already called the rights to make a video about our camping adventure, so look for it there later. (Incidentally, Catherine made a video on Tuesday night. It was posted yesterday morning. It is kind of long and silly, but she made it herself.)

Camping was fun. We had a nice drive. We drove over the mountains with the beautiful fall colors. (Well, where it was not burnt.) Then we drove through the desert at sunset. David took this picture.

Sunset in the Desert

We got to the camp, set it all up and got cooking dinner. Carolynn and I were trying some new camping food ideas. Hot dogs in the fire are good. However, we were experimenting with other foods. We made grilled zucchini and summer squash. That was okay, but not a favorite. We grilled corn. That was good. We grilled broccoli in a foil pouch. That was good too. The best was our baked potatoes. We wrapped potatoes in heavy foil and put them right in the fire pit. About 2 hours later, baked potatoes. They were great. Of course, we roasted marshmallows too.

The Baked Tater

At night, it was peaceful, but surprisingly noisy. We could hear the hot spring stream, which ran right through our campsite. We could hear coyotes near by. We could hear other animals shuffling around out there too. We saw bats and heard owls.

In the morning, we made pancakes and sausage.

Breakfast

We enjoyed the peaceful desert. David saw his first roadrunner.

Meep Meep!

Then we took a dip in the hot spring. After that, we had lunch and packed up the car. On the drive home, we stopped in the little mountain town of Julian. It is so cute. It looked like Mayberry. We went to The Julian Pie Company. It smelled so good in there. Catherine got a cider donut. Carolynn got a brownie. David got a peanut butter cookie. I got a caramel apple Dutch pie to bring home. It looks so good. I have not eaten any yet.

We all had a great time.

Bored

“I’m bored.”

That is Catherine’s favorite sentence. It’s her answer to everything. Why won’t Catherine clean her room? It is too boring. Why won’t Catherine unload the dishes? It is too boring. Why won’t Catherine do her homework? It is boring.

I spoke with Catherine’s teacher today. She seems to think Catherine maybe bored all the time because she is not being challenged. That is no excuse for her not doing a chore, but it may be something.

Tomorrow we are going camping.

Are You A Good Witch Or A Bad Witch?

Wicked was absolutely the best thing I have ever seen in my whole life. I had figured it would be good, but it was better that I even expected. I could see it again and again. The music was wonderful. The actors were amazing.

Things I never knew…
… The Wicked Witch of the West was terribly misunderstood.
… The Wicked Witch of the East was holding the Munchkins hostage because she was in love with one who didn’t love her back.
… The Wicked Witch of the East needed those ruby slippers to walk.
… The Cowardly Lion would have had more courage if he had been allowed to fight his own battles as a cub.
… Glinda had 0 magical power.
… The Scarecrow was only pretending to be brainless.
… The Wicked Witch of the West should have joined PETA.

Anyway, it was just so wonderful. If you have an opportunity to see it, take it. Twice. Three times even.

Welcome Back?

To those who couldn't view this site this morning because you weren't invited, don't feel bad. I wasn't invited either. But we seem to have it worked out now. I will post more later about Wicked and such. Thanks.

Wicked

Was the best show I ever saw. I will write more tomorrow. But this totally counts.

Saturday

Today I went to my Grandma's house and we went shopping for a long time. I can't wait to see Wicked tomorrow.

Lost Treasures

My Grandpa gave me this camera. It's an Argus C3 from 1939. It's the camera my Grandpa used to take all the pictures of his kids and everything. It is so cool. I found a website with the instruction manual and I got some film.

While helping my Grandpa clean out the stuff, I also found my Grandpa's high school diploma and my Aunt Christine's baby book. I love that kind of stuff. It's family history.

Tomorrow... Wicked!!!

Just Friday

This morning I went to Jessica’s house and we rolled in the tire. Then we jumped on her trampoline and time went by so fast. Then we walked to school. When we got there me and Jessica helped Ms. Martin and we stapled papers to the wall and the bell rang. In math class we reviewed math. Then I took a benchmark test, only 10 questions. Then we did math crossword and looked at science videos.

Then the bell rang. I walked to art class. In art class I came first and Mrs. Clark needed to go to the bathroom so I sat there and the second bell rang and everyone came in. Then we put finishing touches on our artwork. I called mine “Candy Land” because it has a lot of spirals on it and dots. It looked cool. (Plus it made me hungry.) Then I packed because the semester is over so we needed to get everything. Then the bell rang and I went to P.E. with Shelley, my friend. In P.E. we practiced for the Turkey Trot and my teacher thought I couldn’t run but when my teacher saw me in first place he said “Wow!” Then the bell rang and it was time for lunch.

At lunch I ate a sandwich and went to the library and studied social studies and the bell rang and it was time for Mrs. Guy’s class. When I got there I did language arts and we did personal pronouns and we wrote a paper on it. I wrote about my pets. Then we did social studies and packed up and went home.

When I got home I cleaned and put up Thanksgiving decorations. Then Catherine surprise. Then we ate at Carls Jr and went shopping. Then we went home and cleaned up and now I am going to bed.

Boring

After last night’s post (which I almost forgot… Thanks Trish.), I am seriously considering abandoning the NaBloPoMo challenge because I just don’t think I am interesting enough to write everyday. Does anyone actually care about my shoes? Probably not.

Today is not going to be much more exciting. I plan on paying bills, buying groceries and cleaning the house. Tomorrow I am going to my Grandpa’s to help him get ready to move. Exciting!

I just got an order (I am at work. Shhh. Don’t tell.) from a woman named Earnestine Pickett of Alabama. I am sure she is a lovely woman with many fine qualities, but tell me, isn’t this the most stereotypical southern hillbilly name you ever heard in your life?

In other work related happenings, yesterday my boss brought me chocolates from a place called Allie's Edibles. They were amazing. I am seriously considering ordering some for Christmas gifts.

Semester Over

Today Jessica went over and we went to school and more review because the semester is over tomorrow so I am going to miss art class and my schedule might change. Then after school I did my homework. Then I played Build-A-Bear workshop and studied. Then I watched Survivor and then I am going to sleep.

Writers Block

I never have been forced to write before. Usually I just write when I feel like it, but thanks to NaBloPoMo, here I am, with nothing. I got some new shoes to wear to Wicked. That is not very exciting news but here is a picture.

In addition, my friend Trish got a new cell phone today. She loves herself some cool gadgets. She got a Chocolate phone. Hers is Black Cherry. I also have a Chocolate phone. Mine is Strawberry. Here is a picture of mine.

This has to be the worst post in history, but I did it. One more day down…

Regular School Day

Today was fun. We went to Jessica's house and her brother has a big tire and we got inside and rolled around in it. Then at school I reviewed and I went home then I did homework. I didn't have much. Then for dinner we had hot dogs and rice. It was good. Then I read and played Animal Crossing. Now I am going to sleep.

Working Class Girl

I need a new job. Do not get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with the job I have now. My boss is nice enough. He pays me a decent wage. It is just that this job is not going anywhere. There is no room for advancement. This is not the kind of job that will allow us to move on to bigger and better. This job keeps everything the same and keeps us from going broke.

When I was looking for a job before and I found this one, I had very little requirement for a job. I just needed one to pay the bills. Now, I want to find one that not only pays the bills, but also will allow me to provide a better life for my family.

This new job can be anywhere, as long as it doesn’t have Wisconsin winters. A little dusting of snow occasionally, I can handle. I won’t go anywhere where the snow is going to over take me. It is expensive to live in California, unless you have the high paying job to go with it. Therefore, I am not totally against moving out of California.

I need a job that pays around the same as I get now (or more) so I can still afford to live.

I need a job I can do. I do well with paperwork and computers. I am well organized. I work well with people. However, I am no good at sales. I just cannot force people or trick people into buying things. I cannot just go up to people and try to sell them things and I will not do that to them over the phone either. I need a good administrative position.

I am aware that I am going to college, but that takes time and I need something in the mean time. A real job. A good job. That is what I need. If anyone knows where I can find such a job, TELL ME! My current plan is to find this job and move if necessary next summer when the kids are out of school.

I see that everyone has been enjoying Catherine’s video. Just for the record, we do feed her. Goober is a brand of peanut butter with the jelly swirled in. In addition, I eventually cleaned the room, and now Catherine is grounded. Carolynn usually keeps it pretty tidy. Also, amazingly enough, she did not feel it was such an injustice when it was Carolynn’s turn to clean it. It is not just cleaning her room that she is against. She is generally that dramatic over any chore. Except taking out the garbage. She will gladly take out the trash, but it will take her 45 minutes to do it. Anyone else would have been done in about 3 minutes.

Yester

Yesterday we made homemade chicken noodle soup it was good I wanted to eat it all up it was so good. School yesterday was fun Jessica, I went to the library, and I got a book on trees its good. My art class is so fun we are take pictures of cool houses and buildings and taking little parts and drawing it with black marker if you make a mistake you have to fix it by making it look like its suppose to be there.

By Popular Demand

Be sure and turn up the volume for full effect. Oh the drama...

Kids Say The Darndest Things

1. This is an old one. Out of Carolynn’s mouth when I wouldn’t let her play with something… (In the saddest, most pathetic tone possible) “I guess I’ll just play with this honeybun box.” Seriously, we still tease her about that. Anything sad and pathetic now calls for an empty honeybun box.

2. This one I have on video. Maybe I will post it sometime. Basically, Catherine was in trouble for not cleaning her room. But instead of cleaning, she was in there playing with Carolynn’s video camera. Then we get such classics as…

A. Shaking a fist at the camera… “You see this fist? It will come down on you if you don’t make Carolynn help me.”

B. Showing random piles of junk… “Look at this stuff. This isn’t all my stuff. I am smaller than the pile. You have to be kidding me.”

C. After we wouldn’t let her have pizza for dinner… “All they gave me was bread with Goober in the middle of it! And water! I have water! (shows water bottles) I might just die.”

We will probably tease her about that until forever. (Do you see this fist…)

3. This one from last night. Carolynn holds up her first three fingers at her sister and tells her to read between the lines. I almost fell of the couch laughing.

Just thinking about times like those makes me laugh until I cry. That video I posted earlier makes me laugh too. All mom’s should watch it.

Last nights chicken and noodles were so good. I was playing Iron Chef in the kitchen and added a dash of ground thyme to my noodle dough. It was yummy. Tonight, hot dogs. Woo.

Carolynn and Catherine were interested in my NaBloPoMo challenge. So I gave them a challenge. They have to post 5 days a week for the rest of November and if they do it successfully I will give them $20 gift cards to the store of their choice. They spent last night deciding on the store and what to buy and didn’t post yesterday. But, as they pointed out, they only have to post 5 days a week. Carolynn is opting for the Build-A-Bear gift card. Catherine is going for Wal-Mart because they have everything at Wal-Mart and if David takes her, they'll get a discount. She's a penny pincher. Give them each $20, Carolynn will buy one thing that is $20 and Catherine will buy 20 $1.00 things and have a coupon and come back with $2.00 left.

Because I'm Your Mother

My boss sent this to me. That about covers it. Enjoy.

NaBloPoMo

My friend Trish is doing this NaBloPoMo challenge. Basically, NaBloPoMo, National Blog Posting Month, challenges you to post at least once everyday for the whole month of November. So far she is doing pretty good. I have decided to take on the challenge myself. The first four days were easy. It was David’s Birthday and I posted David posts, most of which were pretty funny. Now, here comes the hard part…. The rest of the month.

This week we are having a Wizard of Oz theme since my mom, Carolynn and I will be seeing Wicked this Sunday. We are so excited. We have listened to the soundtrack many times. I am still trying to get through the book, but it is slow reading. On Saturday we are going to visit my Grandpa. I will have to bring him another casserole. I also thought about just bringing him a container of homemade frozen sauce and a package of pasta so he could easily whip that up for himself. We’ll have to see. Tonight I am whipping up some chicken noodle soup with the homemade noodles. I am getting hungry just thinking about it.

It’s a chilly day… and my boss left the air on all weekend. I am freezing. Of course, in here, I am freezing in July. I turned the heat on when I got here, but he turned it off when he got here. The battle continues…

Week Fun

The 3rd week of November is the awesome week because we’re going to Grandma’s house and camping. Carolynn and mom are going to see Wicked and I will hang out with Grandpa, Sarah, and Alyssa. Grandpa has plans. I wonder what his plans are. I bet it is something good and fun.

#33

Today was Carolynn's cross country championships. She placed 33 out of 130 girls. The first three girls got trophies. Girls who placed 4 through 30 got medals. Girls who placed 31 through 70 got shirts. Carolynn got a shirt.

#33

Carolynn's friend Jessica also got a shirt. She was #62. All of the kids did a great job. No one on the team got medals or trophies, but Carolynn and a girl in the 8th grade race came close. The other girl came in #31. Carolynn came in first for her team in her age group in every race this season.

The Washington Middle School Cross Country Team

Carolynn informed me today that next she will be trying out for the girls volleyball team.

David's Funny Pictures Of The Day

Yes, This Is Tropical Fruit...

However, it will be David's birthday Sunday so we are having a little celebration here.

Last night the girls went out to torture the neighbors for candy. Carolynn went with her friends and I took Catherine. David stayed home to hand out the candy to kids. No kids came. Both of the girls came home with their little buckets filled. Why doesn't anyone had out Snickers anymore? I searched both their buckets and found none. What is up with that?

Today I will take down my Halloween stuff and put up my Thanksgiving stuff. (If I were my Grandma, I'd have had those Halloween things down yesterday afternoon... or maybe two weeks ago.)
