Penis

Yep, I said it. It has been an interesting time at my job to say the least. I am sick of men. All men. Prisoners and employees alike. Men are stupid pigs. David is probably packing as I type this. He did get a one way ticket to Texas. Maybe he will stay there because he thinks I have lost my mind. That is all I have to say. That and it is very funny. If I didn’t find humor in my job, I would have quit already.

Carolynn’s grounding is going along filled of drama. (“I can’t do anything. I guess I will just stay in my bed.”) She missed going to the movies with my mom over the weekend because of her grounding. My mom took Catherine to see Coraline. Speaking of movies, we got our Netflix back on. I canceled it when we moved and we were broke anyway. We have watched several movies. Definitely, Maybe was okay and Burn After Reading was not super great. It had some funny parts though. The Coen brothers make some great movies; I just didn’t care for this one. Fargo, Raising Arizona, and O Brother Where Art Thou were funny. Today we should be getting Changeling.

Today I was out doing some shopping and I stopped by to tell my Grandpa I had next Monday and Tuesday off and see if he wanted to go anywhere. If there is a casino, he wants to go there. He had some free rooms at Agua Caliente so I am taking him. We will go on Monday and come home Tuesday. The Monday after that I leave for Georgia.

On Sunday Nicole is having a baby shower. I will go there after work. I hope my nephew gets a load of goods. (And some stuff for Allison too, because being a big sister is an important job.)

Well, I am off. My days off are often filled with cleaning, shopping and errands.

Busted

It has been quite a week. I had some trouble at work, but I made it through. Now I can look back and kind of laugh and know I lived. It was good to have a couple of days off. I got some time to get a few things done and relax for a minute. The next two weeks I have Monday and Tuesday off. Then I am off to Georgia. I have made some new friends and am sure that I will meet some more people in Georgia.

Carolynn has had herself quite a week. On Tuesday evening she informed me that this Saturday she would have to go to Saturday school. According to her report, she was with her friend Diamond who was ill. She was just being a friend and walked her to the bathroom and stayed with her while she was barfing. While they were in there, a campus proctor caught them and gave them both Saturday school, despite the fact that the campus proctor could obviously see that Diamond was sick. Carolynn admitted that she should have gone right to the nurse, but she was just trying to be a friend. According to the paper she gave me to sign, she was caught ditching. The paper also seemed to say that it was the fourth time she had an unexcused absence in that class. I almost believed her. I didn’t think my Carolynn was a ditcher and I did think she would try to be a friend. I also thought I was reading the paper wrong. I thought they just meant she ditched fourth period not four times. But something told me that maybe I should investigate further. (It was probably the fact that I had ditched classes in my day and fed my mom a line when caught… Just like my mom did in her time.)

So yesterday morning I went over to the school to find out the details. After all, if they are handing out punishment for being sick, I need to get involved. I managed to speak with both the proctor who discovered her and the administrator who wrote the referral, as well as the school secretary who had some insight. As it turns out, the proctor discovered Carolynn and three of her friends not in the bathroom and no one was sick. It was in fact the fourth time Carolynn has been absent from this class since they returned from Winter Break. Amazingly enough, the other girls were missing from their classes for that period too. I also found out that the other girls involved actually miss classes pretty often and that this wasn’t the first time that the other girls had been caught and given Saturday school. I also learned that when discovered, Carolynn was the only one who was upset about getting in trouble. On the incident report she had to write, Carolynn wrote “I made a bad choice. I was being a follower instead of a leader.”

Needless to say, she was in big trouble when she got home yesterday. I gave her a chance to come clean, but she still insisted she would never ditch class. After I informed her that I knew for sure she did, she admitted to ditching and hanging with her friends. Why? She doesn’t know. Where do they go? She doesn’t know. So now, she is grounded until after Spring Break. I took her phone, her TV, her laptop, her video game privileges, and I am making her do some hard labor. I did find out today that her friends, and fellow ditchers, didn’t get in trouble. That they lied to their parents and said they were going to Saturday school because they wanted some extra study time. I think Carolynn needs to make some new friend choices.
Today I went to lunch with my mom and we got our nails done. Carolynn was so jealous. She has wanted to get her nails done for awhile. She is also upset that my mom was planning to take the girls to see Coraline on Saturday and now Carolynn will have to miss it.

David has had some excitement too. He started classes this week. He is going to Texas in April to visit his family. He is returning with a vehicle. That will be so great. Apple Valley was not built for the car-free kind of people. Sure, we have a bus system here, but it isn’t great. It does not run early morning or late nights. It doesn’t run Sunday or on holidays. And it doesn’t go everywhere a person might like to go. All that, and the nearest bus stop to our house is over two miles away. It can be a long cold walk or a long hot walk. A vehicle will be so much more convenient. It can also help him get a better job.

That is all I have to update for now. Tomorrow I go back to work. I will try and update more. I promise.

A Bad Day At The Office

Whenever you think you have it rough at your job, just remember, there are plenty of people who would beg to differ.

Another Happy Freakin Valentine's Day

It has been a long week. My days off this week didn’t come together this week. I got Sunday and Saturday off. Sunday I went to San Manuel with my Grandpa and my parents. I worked five days, one with overtime. I am tired. Frequently this week, I got home from work then had to go right back out again. I had errands to run, groceries to buy, dinner to make.

David had an exciting week too. On Thursday, his grandparents and his aunt came for a visit unexpectedly. He was very excited to see them. I did not see them as I was at work, but he said they had a nice visit and had pancakes at Johnny D’s. Thursday he also got his tax return. We went to John’s Incredible Pizza for dinner and David got an Xbox. He had wanted one for a really long time and just never had the money. Don’t worry you parental types; he didn’t blow all of his tax return on the Xbox, just some. He is looking at going to Texas this April to visit his family, after I get back from Georgia of course.

We are not doing anything too exciting for Valentine’s. I got Catherine a Pound Puppy and I got Carolynn a collector Barbie. I got them chocolates and cards. I got a box of candy from See’s. I did some cleaning this morning and I baked pink cupcakes. I took some over to my parent’s house. I stopped at the Wal-Mart for some laundry soap and I got a game for the Xbox. It is Scene It. I like it, but I win every time and not even by a little. In the last game, I had 98,000 points and the nest nearest to me, David had 40,000. I need my mom to come over and play it with me so I can actually have a challenge.

I looked back at the blog to see what we were doing last year on Valentine’s Day. Last year, I was at work, David was at work, the girls went to school and we had beef stroganoff for dinner. Then the next morning, we all went to Grandpa’s trailer for the last time and helped him move.

Tomorrow I have to work. David and the girls will be home. I have been working 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Tomorrow I start on the 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM shift. I have Wednesday and Thursday off this week.

Smiles

I seem to be always happy nowadays. I like my job. It is getting easier each day. On March 9, I leave for Georgia to finish my training. The training center is located in Glynco, Georgia which is near the coast. (In case anyone was wondering, it is about 455 miles or about 7 hours from New Bern, NC) Anyway, I will be there for three weeks. That means I will be there for my birthday, and I will be there when the girls and my parents go to Hawaii. I think that my being on the east coast and them in Hawaii is just about as far apart as we can get and still be in the same country. I was looking forward to hanging with my Grandpa while they were gone, but I will be home before they get back and we can hang out then. While we are all gone, David will be spending some time hanging with Grandpa. Perhaps my brother and Nicole will come and hang out with him too.

While in Georgia, I plan to visit Savannah. There are plenty of things to do there. When I am there, I get nights and weekends off. I will spend plenty of time studying. I have never been on the east coast so it should be a memorable experience. Some of the people I know who are going at different times are going to Disneyworld. When we fly out there we actually fly into Jacksonville, Florida. Then we take a bus to Glynco. I am sure I will meet lots of new and exciting people there.

The girls had today off from school. They stayed home and played games on the Wii and cleaned up the house. It was cold, wet and a little snowy today.

I hope everyone enjoys my new blog design.

Sheep

Nikki at snailbird.com made this fabulous new design. I think it is very cute and springy. Nikki is a very sweet person and I like her blog very much. I always like blogs that update frequently, don't say the same old stuff, and when the blog writer actually responds to comments. Nikki does all of that, as does her girlfriend Ashley, who has a nice blog called Mutts N' More. I hope you all enjoy the new look.

Today I went to San Manuel with my parents and my grandpa. It was fun, but there aren't as many penny machines there and I lose my money a lot quicker with nickles. We ate at a restaurant there and I had some pork tenderloin that was good. Sometimes pork can be dry, but this one was not. My days off didn't come together this week, so I go back to work tomorrow. I have next Saturday off too.

Broken

Yesterday morning, I got up and my iPod wouldn’t turn on. I figured it needed a charge. I plugged it in to the computer to charge it. It said it was charging and it seemed fine. I left the house to go run some errands. When I got home, my iPod still wouldn’t turn on. It no longer said charging and my computer wasn’t even recognizing it. I took that to mean something was wrong with my iPod. I have only had that since December. I got it for Christmas. So, I took it back to the Best Buy. The girl was going to give me a new one, no problem. However, she decided to talk to the Geek Squad guy first, to see if he could see what was wrong with it. No sense in having to reload everything in it again. Turns out nothing was wrong with it. He turned it on. The battery was still low, but it worked perfectly. He said perhaps I was trying to turn it on while still connected to the computer and it won’t do that or maybe I didn’t hold the button down long enough. I felt like suck a dork. I took my non-broken iPod home. I sat down and turned on my computer and downloaded some new songs into my iPod. It seemed to be fine. I ejected my iPod and it was charged and loaded and fine. I went on to checking my e-mails and such when my computer said something had updated and it would need to restart. Okay, seems reasonable enough. The computer is new and updates certainly became available since it was programmed originally. So it restarted. Problem was… It never actually restarted. No matter what I did, the computer will not turn on. So obviously, the problem was not the iPod. It was the laptop. It still will not turn on this morning. Luckily, most of my stuff is backed up. Everything but my bank account registers. I spent hours balancing my check book the other day and now it is gone. I only have it through when I bought the computer. Now I have to start over from there again. That part sucks. But what sucks even worse is my computer, the one I bought on the 24th of January, less than 2 weeks ago, crashed. Of course I will return it to the Best Buy and of course they will give me a new one, but that is still stupid.

The dishwasher in our house has been broken since we moved in. They sent someone to fix it about two weeks after we moved in and it worked better but still not great. It makes a terrible loud noise when you use it, like a fork in a garbage disposal. It got worse and worse. The dishes never got clean in it. They sent another person out a few weeks ago and they said they needed to order a part. We never heard back. Yesterday morning, when I went to pay the rent, I mentioned that no one ever got back to us about the dishwasher. Yesterday afternoon, Midway Appliance called to set up delivery for today of a new dishwasher. Midway is where I bought my washer and dryer. So today, between 1 and 3, we should have a new dishwasher. The rental agency we use generally does a fabulous job. This house is older and was empty for a long time before we moved in. It was bound to have some problems. But they ensure everything gets taken care of. They have to go through the owner of course, which is usually the hold up for things, but they never forget and usually take care of it as soon as they can.

Anyway, yesterday and today are my days off from work. Work is going better. I am getting the hang of it. Once you get past the part where they are a bunch of felons, it isn’t bad. You just stick to the schedule and keep an eye out of anything unusual. Before you know it, it is time to go home.

We never did find our cat. We tried the shelters several times. We asked the neighbors. We looked all over. We miss her. Carolynn still thinks we should go get a new cat, but I don’t want a new cat. I want my cat. Since we can’t find her, I guess we are just down to 1 cat, 2 dogs, and a turtle. Gibby is enough for like 10 pets anyway with all his energy.

Well, the Best Buy should be open soon and I have lots to do. Why does it seem like days off are almost harder work than days on?
