Whats new

A lots happened in a wile since I wrote but I,m going to Knots Berry Farm on the 9th of May. Were going to a festival to before that because its a band field trip. Were playing three songs: Childhood Hymn, Imperium and a secret song you can't know about. I dyed my hair blond.

School

I really like my school. I go to Sycamore Rocks Elementary School. I have been through a lot at my school. At the first trimester of school I didn't know anyone. A few weeks later Tehya Thompson came to our school and we became BFFs.We are like sisters. Everything was normal until Tuesday April 28, 2009. I was singing in music class and I locked my knees then I...Fainted. Today was the last day of state testing so we have about a month of school left. I can't wait until 5th Grade! On May 14th I'm going on a field trip to a science place. David is coming with me. Well, I don't know what else to write. Here is a random picture of Gibs. He is chewing a carrot. Also is Elvis' butt.

Living

That’s pretty much it. My job is same old… I work in a prison; it is what you expect when you work with criminals. But I still go back every day. I am still working the midnight to 8 am shift. I sleep during the day a lot. But, it pays the bills.

The girls are good. They had some state testing this week. Catherine had some softball games. I didn’t make it to today’s game because I was asleep, but David said she did great and she had to slide three times and scored three runs. Carolynn had a good birthday on Tuesday and is now an official teenager. Catherine had a game Tuesday. My mom came and brought Carolynn a new collector Barbie. After the game, we went to John’s Incredible Pizza with Joe, Nicole, and the kids. They got Carolynn a cool new outfit. I got Carolynn a couple of new collectible Barbie’s. David made it back from Texas in time to join us for pizza and he brought Carolynn some new books that she had wanted. What she had really wanted was some make up and the privilege to wear it. So we made an agreement, she can wear makeup, but I get to pick it. I bought it and I showed her how to put it on. I think she was disappointed. She said she couldn’t even tell it was on. I said that was the point.

Like I said, David made it back from Texas on Tuesday night. He was gone a week. He drove back in his truck. It is a 1986 Jeep pick up. It looks like crap but it seems to run like a champ. He made it all the way from Texas in two days. We took some stuff to the Salvation Army in it early this week and we picked up some fertilizer for the garden. It has no air conditioner, but he likes it. Here is a picture. He went back to work at McDonald’s, but having his new car opens up more opportunity for him. He is more available at McDonald’s and can look for jobs further away and not have to worry about buses or limit his availability.

I have been doing some gardening. There are a lot of weeds to pull, but we are doing it a section at a time. We have some plants in the front and a bunch in the back. We are planting a veggie garden out back. Plus some herbs are growing out there. We put some bird feeders out there. We have a couple of rocking chairs and a fire pit. We are going to try and get a new barbecue soon. We have an old charcoal grill for now. It is going to be a great summer to spend out there. Last summer was pretty craptacular. We didn’t have money to do anything. Now I have a great job and David has a little bit of a job, and he will get something better soon. Plus he is going to school. He is taking a math class and a history class. He spends a lot of time on that. Things are finally looking good.

On a sad note however, Bea Arthur passed away today. I used to love her on The Golden Girls. It came on too late for me to stay up and watch, but I used to sneak down the hall and hide in the entry way of our house and watch it anyway. I watched it on reruns for years too. It is amazing how funny she was. There are no others like her.

Review of Harry Potter Book 1

I finished my book Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone. It was one of the best books I've EVER read!!!!!!!! I loved it! This book was about a kid named Harry Potter. His parents died,so he had to live with muggles.(normal people) He found out he was a wizard, from Hagrid. Then he got invited to Hogwarts Wizard School. He had to get on a train at Kings Cross platform 9 and 3 quarters, when he got on the train he met Ron Weasly and Hermione Granger. Harry was a first year with Ron and Hermione. On Halloween a troll showed up, and they knocked him out. After that, they found out about the sorcerers stone. They thought Voldemort or Snape would steal it, so they went to go save it before they die, but Qurrell was the bad guy! Qurrell had Voldemort on the back of his head and Snape was trying to save harry!YOU SHOULD READ IT! IT'S AN AWESOME BOOK!

Almost 13

Carolynn will be 13 this Tuesday. For her birthday, she wants everything. Mostly she wants some book and some makeup. I got the make up. David is hunting down the book. I don't even know what it was. She also wants some collectible Barbies.

To celebrate the big day, we took her to Marcelino's Mexican restaurant. Our family has been celebrating birthdays there for many years. I celebrated my 13th birthday there myself. My sister did and I think my cousin Alyssa did too. Anyways, we took Carolynn there today for brunch. They have a great brunch buffet. The staff sang happy birthday to her. On Tuesday, her actual birthday, she has school and Catherine has a softball game. We might get pizza after. David should be back then.

I know I haven't been writing as much lately, but I have been working a lot of hours and, with David gone, I have more to do. David usually takes care of the dishes and the laundry. He also helps cart the kids around when I am sleeping. Catherine has softball, Carolynn has band. Both are going on field trips soon. I had to do the shopping and get the bills taken care of.

We went to my brother's house for Easter and I took a lot of pictures, but I forgot to upload them into the computer and then I lent my camera to David to take on his trip. So I will be sure and share those when he returns my camera.

Okay, that is all for now. I have a couple of short days off later this week, so I will try and do some cool stuff for you loyal fans.

For The Love Of A Child

Looking For Love

Okay I am not a big fan of the gossip papers. I really don't care which celebrity is doing which other celebrity. Frankly, I think those tabloids take away from celebrities being able to make movies or TV shows, or music or whatever it is they are famous for doing. Except for Paris Hilton who is famous for doing nothing and if I never hear about it again that would be super...

Anyway, we all know Lindsey Lohan has had some personal issues, but at least she has a sense of humor about it. I happened across this today and it cracked me up. Enjoy.

The Adventures Of Glyncow

It is probably best you read the post titled "Officer of the Law" on Tropical Fruit before you read this one. It would probably make more sense.

As many of you already know, Catherine is a big fan of cows. While I was in Georgia, I cam across a stuffed cow wearing a BOP shirt that said Glynco, Georgia. I don't remember who had the idea, but we came up with a plan to take the cow with us on our last day in Georgia and take his picture. We named him Glyncow, since he was from Glynco. Join his adventures...

Here we have Glyncow in my hotel room.

Here he is enjoying a bagel in the dining hall.

Here he is on my desk.

Here we have the cow on Samantha's car.

Here is Glyncow visiting Monica's class.

I have a lot of pictures of Glyncow with people like this. All of these are Victorville people.

Here he is hanging out on the wall outside the classrooms waiting for graduation to start.

The cow on the stairs to the classrooms.

Here is the cow guarding all of our bags.

Here we have Glyncow on the bus with Samantha and Shaun. Shaun has a picture of the cow in his phone.

Here he is with Geis at a Mexican restaurant we went to after graduation.

Glyncow on Shaun's car at the bowling alley.

Glyncow hanging out with Shaun while he plays some air hockey.

Here he is with Daniel and Geis at the bowling alley.

Here is Glyncow on the bowling alley.

Here is Glyncow with a few friends. My roommate Geis bought his friends to take home with her.

Here he is on the final leg of his journey. In the airport getting ready to go home. He had fun. Catherine loves him.

Officer Of The Law

Like I mentioned in the previous post, I finished my training two weeks ago yesterday. I really feel like I learned a lot. I met a lot of great people and had a fun time. Here are a few pictures from my final week in training. (Yes, that is a cow in some of those pictures. Check out Catherine’s website for details on the adventures of the cow.)

Dinner with my friend Monica and her roommate. Monica was not in my class in Georgia, she graduated a week later. Monica and I work together here though.

My roommate Geis studying with Michael from the other class that graduated with us.

Samantha, Shaun, and Jerome doing some serious studying.

The three people in blue shirts were not in my class in Georgia, however, they are from here and we all started our careers on the same day in January. Jacob (who graduated with honors the next week), Monica, Geis, me, Samantha, and Marques.

These are all the people in my class from Coleman. That is in Florida. Jerome, the Doctor (he is a dentist), Samanatha, and Shaun.

This is most of my class on the way to the gradation ceremony.

This is mostly the gang from New York. With a few others mixed in.

Samantha and Geis at our class graduation bowling party.

Matt and Geis at the bowling alley. I found several pictures like this in my camera. I saw Matt playing with it.

Michael, Geis, me, and the Doc squeezed into the back of Shaun's car on the way home from the bowling alley.

It was so fun. There will be a video about this too. I am going to try and score some pictures from my classmates for a cool video.

The Newest Team Member

Around 11pm on Monday April 6, we welcomed a new addition to the family. Nathan Joseph joined us at 8 lbs and 10 ounces. He is cute and my first nephew. His big sister Allison was very excited. My brother is a very proud new dad. Nicole is doing fine and is ready to go home. We went over to see them on Tuesday afternoon. Here is your first look at little Nathan. (There are no pictures of Nicole because I know I wouldn't want pictures of me at a time like that. When she is feeling better I will post some pictures of her and Nathan.)

Joe and little Nathan.

Catherine and her cousin Nathan.

OMG! I forgot to mention my super cool new blog design. I absolutely love it. Thanks Nikki! Check out her design website at DesignCoyote.com.

Catching Up

It’s been two weeks since I graduated from my training in Georgia. I know you are dying for some pictures. So let me just pick up where I left off. The internet connection was spotty in Georgia, so I was having trouble getting updates up while I was there. Plus my roommate, as much as I liked her, turned into a crazy person that last week. She was very nervous about the test we had to take to graduate. (She passed, of course.)

As you already may know,Trisha, the family, and I went to Savannah together while I was out in Georgia. It was super fun, even though one of the kids was sick. Too bad she is also a teenager and no one realized she was sick. We just thought she was being a pain because she could. Anyway, on the way to Savannah we stopped at an outlet mall and did some shopping. I got Carolynn and Trisha’s oldest some new Nikes. I was assured that they were fashionable. Carolynn agreed when I got home with her pair. For that price they better be fashionable, comfortable and amazing. I bought Catherine and Trisha’s younger daughter some matching outfits. (They are not teens and do not care if they have the same clothes on.) Trisha’s husband got some running shoes that worked with his iPod. Seriously.

After the shopping spree, we continued to Savannah. We took a tour and saw a bunch of great sights. We got off of the tour at some stops and walked around. After the tour we drove back and toured the waterfront. We ate at a fish place on the river. It was great. I had such a great time. I wish they lived closer. Trisha and her family are just like my own family.

Now for the best part… PICTURES!

This is where our tour of Savannah began. It is an old train stop.

On the tour bus with the family.

Savannah was so pretty and green and the buildings all looked so cool.

The girls in one of the many squares in Savannah.

Can you totally see the feather floating down from this and landing at the feet of Forrest Gump?

These flowers were all over Savannah.

More historic Savannah.

Say Cheese!

The coolest new Nike's. Carolynn's are pink and white.

I sent these shoes to the younger one for her birthday shortly before this. She wanted to make sure I got a picture of her wearing them.

More of the beauty of Savannah.

These last two are of a Catholic church. It was beautiful.

I took way more pictures, but eventually I will get a video together. I promise.

The Howling Wind

The wind is blowing quite the storm of dust. It is hard to see out there. The sand hits you and it hurts. I had sand in my hair and my ears. I had sand in my mouth. It sounds like Kansas. It makes me feel cold, even though it probably isn't that cold out there. It sounds like a storm is brewing. If this keeps up, pretty soon we will be in Oz.

Back To Life

I have a bunch of stuff to write. I have a bunch of pictures to share. But I have been busy. I returned home on Friday late and have been going nonstop ever since. After three weeks away from home, I had a lot to do. I had souvenirs to distribute. I helped my brother move a couch. I went out places with Grandpa. Then I went back to work on Monday. It is never a dull moment at my job. The girls arrived back home late Monday night. Catherine had a softball game on Tuesday and practice today. She has another game on Saturday. I got a couple of days off coming so my plan is to use those days to catch up with this, get some video together, and post it all up here. I have to get some yard work done. I have a lot done already, but the weeds are taking over. We planted roses in front of the window and a honeysuckle by the front door. We put some flowers in pots in the back yard on the porch.

As soon as I catch up with my life, I can get back into my regular updating pattern. I can also get back to all of my other regular activities, and other fun adventures.

Stay tuned.
