Happy Independence Day!

It was one of the nicest 4th of July's I have had in awhile. Last year I had to work at night. This year I had to work in the day and it was pretty quiet.

When I got home we had some traditional American foods; barbecued burgers, baked beans and watermelon. The neighbor gave the dogs some rib bones so they were celebrating too. (Especially Drizella who got the burger David accidentally threw on the floor.)

Even Two Face had some melon.

Then I took a nap.

We can see the town fireworks from our house since there is nothing between us and where they do it. People had pulled over on our street just to watch. My camera takes terrible fireworks pictures so there are none.

But it was a great day and a fun way to celebrate our nation's independence.

A Day In The Life

In The Blink Of An Eye

It was a sad day at work today. Mr. Gagne, a man I worked with, passed away in the early hours of the morning. He was only 40. His wife also works at our facility. He left behind 4 children ages 3 to 20.

My heart goes out to his family. He will be missed.

Happy Blogoversary!

On this day in 2006 I began this blog as I had just begun a whole new life. And on this day in 2008 we moved from San Diego to Apple Valley.

In celebration of our second year in the high desert, here is a video. Enjoy!
